HTC android 1.5 cupcake update

Ole!!Finally i got my HTC phone updated to 1.5 after waiting months for its release.I would not have known about it unless my friends told me bout it.The download and installation takes less than 15 mins, though it has to restart 2 times. Most important thing is that it is hassle-free and there is little need to read through installation steps very carefully.I wish i could post some pics for this new update,so i'll give a brief introduction about the updates

  • a new camcorder apps
  • ability to switch orientation when rotating the phone
  • software keyboard when messaging or on the net,the sensitivity is pretty good
  • the background color is now metallic grey, not black anymore. It looks snazzier than before
  • ability to upload video on youtube

That's all i've discovered for now.I'll post more when i discover more of its new function.Adios!!

AHM 09

First time running 21 km.My legs hurts like crazy since yesterday morning. Before the run,i met with Agus 1st at yishun and took a cab to the padang.Once at the padang,we left our bags with the guards recruits. One look at them and i can tell they are recruits. But they did a good job of taking care of our bags. After that,we went to look for cui qing, charlie and xiao ying.It was chaotic because of the crowd. So while looking for them,i bumped into derrick and his commando friends.Talk about coincidence. From there on,i'll let the pictures do more of the talking.

It hard to believe I still have the energy to smile after all that..hehe.
But on another matter regarding my job search, stella chemifa(weird name..but it's a japanese specialty chemical company) called me to go for a pre-employment check up last friday. So the job is 99% confirmed. But the only downside is that it's a shift position. So i need to work 12 hrs night and day shift. That makes it difficult to attend any lectures if i am studying part-time next year.I got a plan to tackle that, but it'll take me 5 year ++to complete the whole degree.5 years is no joke sia.But the HR personnel told me that the non-shift position may still be available next year,so i might apply for it next year.

The long wait

The weeks after i've ord is very much like the months after the "O" levels.Slacking, trying to get a part-time job and playing around. But this time around,it is slightly different.Right now,I am trying to find a full-time job, studying for the admission tests and trying to get a part-time job for extra cash.It is quite unbearable to wait for the things you desire to happen.Something like waiting outside the cubicle for someone to finish his "big" business.Haha,I am not sure if this is a good analogy to describe how am feeling now.Maybe,I am just impatient and longing for a piece of action.

Finally,I've settled my humongous phone bill this week. But it left me a little short of cash reserve. That caused a few problems for me.One is that i need an emergency part-time job quick.Another is that i need to raise cash for the mission trip to cambodia organised by my church.I really want to go without having to borrow excessive from other people.

Despite of the many things at hand,i really do hope that God would somehow help me out like he always would.

Well,I decided to put out my priority prayer list for the 2nd half of 2009 to remind myself.I've never put out any prayer list publicly on this blog. But if anyone from NG4A1 sees this, pls pray for me.If u've lobang like this, pls msg me or call me.Thanks alot.So here it is:

  1. An 8-5 pm job that is in chemical/gas/oil/process industries, with monthly salary of $1700,hopefully one that would be relevant to what i've learnt in poly(8-5 so that i'll be able to study part-time).
  2. Pass or excel in the admission tests and interview to get into BTech for chemical engineering in NUS.
  3. get a high paying part-time job of $6.5/hr and raise up $500 in time for the cambodian mission trip.

Post-ORD

Post-ORD life can be very boring or routine, like finding a job or going to study. But for my case,it's super super slack.Slack but not boring coz i've already got things to do nw.

I've also applied for jobs with sumitomo chemicals and exxon mobil and many others. Both sumitomo and exxon mobil have asked me to go for their interview and tests. So far,i went to exxon mobil HQ at harbourfront for the SHL(aptitude) test. It's a test that assess your math skill, logical reasoning and spatial ability to see if one has the ability for the job.It really test you by giving you alot of questions and expecting you to finish in a short time.So in the end,i left many questions unanswered. As for sumitomo,i'll be going for its interview on next monday.

virtual stock exchange(use imaginary money)

It's quite depressing to see the stocks u bought going into the red zone.

I first started buying stock on virtual stock exchange in january to learn the ropes of investing without getting my hands burnt. It was quite exciting initially as I tried to track the prices online. But the excitement wore off as the stocks that i bought keep sliding down and down and down into oblivion(maybe nt oblivion,i'll explain later). So decided not to go look at it anymore. It went on for months until when encouraging news about the stock market bottoming out and rising up stirred me to take a look at my stocks.I was quite surprised by it.This is what i mean:

It did much better than i expected.Given that i bought in january hoping the chinese gov't would spend the stimulus package on solar firms. Some checks are done and it shows that it really happened.I've learnt quite a lot from all this and hopefully i'll b ready to storm the market soon :-)

The time I've been waiting for is inching closer

ORD.The date i've been waiting for.The time when i get my pink IC back. The time i start degree level studies and a fresh start in my life. It's definitely a time to start something new;like maybe do something crazy like skydiving.

As it inches closer,I would remember God's goodness during the past 2 yrs.The way He's given me strength to endure in the tekaning, route marches. The peace he's given me throughout the whole long process of finding a uni course overseas and local. But one thing I'll really remember is when my care group leader lean choo prophesied about my ns time before I came in.Initially,I only remember 1st part when she said she saw a huge icy mountain and it means my ns time will be quite tough on me.So it's pretty depressing to come into ns with that.I remembered the 2nd part when i was in taiwan. That 2nd part was about me not alone in this despite of the huge mountain coming in my way.As i recalled it,my attitude just changed because i realised that i am not alone in my struggle and that I'll overcome it together with Him.So hopefully,I'll b able to take this attitude along wif me as I ORD :-)

ORD LO!!!
